Job summary

Source Meridian is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our data platform team, standing up a new engineering group to onboard customers. You will be the first engineer, setting technical standards and guiding junior engineers as the team grows.

You’ll build ETL pipelines on AWS with Glue, Python and SQL, ingest data from healthcare partners, and enable Snowflake data sharing while ensuring PHI is handled securely.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and owning production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency.
• Hands-on AWS Glue experience and AWS data stack (S3, IAM, Step Functions).
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Healthcare data in production experience.
• Understanding of HIPAA and PHI handling, de-identification, encryption, auditing.
• Excellent English communication and ability to document trade-offs.
• Proven track record mentoring engineers or setting technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical anchor for a new team and set standards.
• Mentor and onboard engineers.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines on AWS using Glue, Python, SQL.
• Customize pipelines for new customer implementations.
• Ingest and normalize data from pharmacy and healthcare partners.
• Deliver curated data through Snowflake and data sharing.
• Design pipelines with PHI handling, access controls, encryption and audit trails.
• Work with analysts and stakeholders to translate data specs into pipelines.
