Job summary

Unum is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to join the CX Analytics team. You will lead data pipelines, models, and solutions enabling BI and advanced analytics across the team.

This hands-on role requires building scalable pipelines, integrating diverse data sources, and advancing AI/LLM workflows to extract signals from unstructured data. You will mentor engineers, define standards, and partner with data scientists and BI analysts to drive impactful insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field required; Masters/PhD preferred.
• 8 years of professional experience or equivalent work experience.
• Deep expertise in data engineering, data architecture, and scalable pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines.
• Develop and optimize data models for BI and analytics.
• Collaborate with data scientists and BI analysts to enable analytics.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in data engineering.
• Work with on-prem and cloud platforms, integrating diverse data sources.
