Job summary

Luna Innovations is seeking a Principal Data Analytics & Automation to lead data, BI, and automation capabilities across the organization. You will own reporting, analytics, and AI-driven solutions that improve scale, efficiency, and decision-making for critical operating processes.

The role emphasizes governance, phased roadmaps, and collaboration with sales, finance, and operations to deliver enterprise-wide data capabilities and trusted analytics.

Qualifications

• Strong business ops knowledge including sales, forecasting, S&OP or related processes.
• Ability to translate business needs into KPIs and executive-ready insights.
• Hands-on experience with AI-enabled workflows and tools.
• Proficiency in Python, data pipelines, and integrations.
• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Own OCT BU BI function, dashboards, reports, and metrics for leadership visibility.
• Lead weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting: bookings, billings, backlog, forecasts, KPIs.
• Design automated Booking/Billing/Backlog reporting using Salesforce and NetSuite data.
• Define KPIs with leaders; ensure trusted, single source of truth.
• Mentor analytics team and foster self-service analytics adoption.
• Develop scalable data architecture roadmap and governance framework.
• Identify and implement AI/automation opportunities to boost productivity.
