Job summary

Unum is seeking a Data Scientist II to join the CX Analytics team within the Customer Experience Organization. You will run analyses, support experiments, and mine data to uncover drivers that inform how we support customers across BI and operations.

You will work with structured and unstructured data, partner with BI Analysts and Data Engineers, and translate insights into actionable business outcomes. This campus-based role may include remote options.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field is required; Master’s is preferred.
4 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Design analytical solutions using optimization, simulation, data mining and other methods for actionable value.
Integrate data from DB2, SQL Server, Web API, and Teradata for analyses.
Create rich modeling-ready data framework with validation and reconciliation.
Develop and tune predictive models to explain events and forecast behavior.
Interpret results clearly to influence leadership decisions and business outcomes.
Support integration of data science solutions into existing processes using automation.
Mentor lower-level data science peers and collaborate with BI Analysts and Data Engineers.
