Job summary

Equiliem is seeking a Lead Data Center Technician in Sterling, VA to lead crews of ten or more technicians on large-scale data center projects. You will perform fiber/low-voltage installations, splicing, testing, and route execution while coordinating with project management and safety teams.

The ideal candidate has extensive data center experience, a strong background in fiber and structured cabling, and proven leadership of field crews in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data center technician experience.
• 5+ years of fiber optic installation experience.
• Experience in low-voltage commercial construction and data center environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading crews of 10+ technicians and running projects.
• Hands-on fiber splicing experience: ribbon/fusion.
• Ability to read blueprints and project specs.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews of 10+ technicians on large data center projects.
• Perform cable infrastructure and fiber rough-in installations.
• Install, dress, terminate, and test copper/fiber cabling.
• Perform ribbon and fusion fiber splicing and test fiber systems.
• Install and configure single-mode/multi-mode fiber and connectors (ST/LC/SC).
• Conduct Fluke/OTDR testing and troubleshoot cabling systems.
• Oversee panel buildouts, pathways, and rack installations.
• Coordinate with general contractors and project management.
• Enforce safety procedures and maintain clean worksite.
