Job summary
Equiliem is seeking a Data Center Technician II to support installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of low-voltage fiber and cabling in commercial data center projects. You will perform fiber termination, OTDR testing, cable management, rack/build-outs, and read blueprints to follow installation plans.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of data center technician experience and 2 years of fiber experience, with OSHA 10 preferred.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of data center technician experience.
- 2+ years of fiber optic installation experience.
- Commercial construction and low-voltage infrastructure experience.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Perform fiber rough-in installations and cable infrastructure work.
- Dress, route, label, and manage cabling per project specs.
- Terminate fiber and install connectors (ST/LC/SC/SC-APC).
- Conduct Fluke and OTDR testing on installed cabling.
- Troubleshoot fiber connectivity and installation issues.
- Rack and stack customer equipment; build out server racks.
- Install fiber trays, ladder racks, and cable management systems.
- Receive materials and perform hardware assembly.
- Perform Outside Plant (OSP) fiber routing into facilities.
- Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and installation plans.
- Follow safety procedures, PPE use, and OSHA requirements.
- Maintain professional communications with team and management.
