Job summary

Flexential is seeking a Data Center Design Project Manager - Mechanical to lead data center design projects focusing on HVAC, cooling, and energy efficiency. You will work with electrical and structural engineers to deliver integrated, compliant designs.

You will manage scope, schedule, and budgets while guiding vendors and internal teams through the full project lifecycle. A strong PM background and mechanical engineering expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in data center design and project management.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC and cooling.
• Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects.
• Excellent project management and multi-project handling skills.
• Proficient in MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and continuous improvement mindset.
• Preferred: Master’s degree; PE license; 6+ years in data center design.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage data center design projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.
• Oversee mechanical engineering aspects (HVAC, cooling, energy efficiency).
• Ensure design compliance with codes and standards; review submittals and drawings.
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate suppliers for mechanical systems.
• Promote sustainable design and energy-saving initiatives.
• Maintain project documentation and regular status reports.
