Job summary

Wolters Kluwer is seeking a Lead CX/UX Designer to own discovery, research, and design for a complex product area. You will stay hands-on across discovery, interaction, visual design, prototyping, and implementation, mentoring colleagues and applying AI and code-based tools with sound judgment.

You will collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape priorities using customer evidence and define success metrics, while guiding design patterns and accessibility across workflows.

Qualifications

• End-to-end UX expertise with independent research and design for complex products.
• Strong skills in planning and conducting interviews, workflow observation, and usability studies.
• Ability to select appropriate methods, synthesize findings, and recognize evidence limits.
• Deep expertise in information architecture, complex workflows, and UI design.
• Experience prototyping using UX, AI, and code-based tools with sound judgment.
• Ability to turn ambiguous needs into clear problem definitions and influence priorities.
• Experience evolving reusable design patterns and accessibility standards.
• Ability to align stakeholders and coach designers in research and practice.
• Experience defining success measures and evaluating outcomes after release.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead research and design across connected workflows for a complex product area.
• Plan and conduct your own research with customers.
• Use findings to identify unmet needs and define problems to solve.
• Partner with UX researchers when needed while owning research ownership.
• Shape priorities by linking customer evidence, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Develop concepts and testable prototypes to explore future experiences.
• Carry solutions into detailed interaction and visual design.
• Collaborate with Engineering through implementation and resolve gaps.
• Use AI and code-based tools to speed up research and prototyping and model accountable use.
• Evolve design patterns and align with senior stakeholders.
• Define and track success measures with Product and Engineering.
• Use real usage data to determine impact.
• Mentor UX colleagues and lead critiques.
