Job summary

Billings Public Schools is seeking a Custodian III for a 12-month shift from 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires acting as a working supervisor of custodial operations, cleaning and maintaining facilities, and supporting grounds and maintenance tasks.

Starting October 2026, position offers benefits including vacation/sick leave and PERS retirement. Pre-employment physicals are required and paid by the District.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of custodial experience or equivalent.
• Ability to perform heavy physical activity.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Effective communication and ability to deal with the public.

Responsibilities

• Works under supervision and acts as a working supervisor of custodial operations.
• Cleans, repairs, changes filters and other equipment under supervision.
• Strips and scrubs floors; finishes and refinishes floors.
• Cares for grounds and irrigation; cleans interior and exterior areas; pest control as needed.
• Shovels snow and assists head custodians; reports any damage or equipment malfunctions.
