Job summary

Creighton University’s Facilities Management team is seeking a Lead Custodian to supervise a crew of 5 to 15 in daily cleaning and custodial care of university buildings. The role requires inspecting work areas, providing training, and following established routines.

This full-time, day-shift position (6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday–Friday) may require weekends or overtime. The candidate should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and lead safely with attention to detail and communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 4 years of custodial experience is preferred.
• Ability to lead a small crew, oversee daily tasks, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew of 5–15 in daily cleaning and custodial care of one or two buildings.
• Inspect work areas daily and ensure established cleaning methods are followed.
• Provide training and mentoring to staff per supervisor guidance.
• Occasional weekends/overtime may be required and feedback will be given during reviews.
