Job summary

Williams College is seeking a Lead Custodian to join the Custodial Services team. The role supervises up to 12 staff, oversees daily cleaning operations, and ensures a safe, clean campus environment for living and learning.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with shifts Mon-Fri 5:30am–2:00pm. Pay ranges from $24.50 to $28.00 per hour, with premium overtime pay and shift differentials as applicable.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead up to 12 staff and supervise daily operations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with good organization and prioritization.
• Basic computer skills to manage work orders and requests.
• Commitment to safety and proper use of equipment and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Direct up to 12 staff in daily custodial operations across campus buildings.
• Perform general cleaning, floor care, and equipment usage.
• Carry out light maintenance, snow removal, and seasonal bed making.
• Maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
• Ensure safety and proper use of chemicals and equipment.
