Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal CPU PPA Pathfinding Engineer to shape future Qualcomm CPU products.

You will analyze, define, and compare power, performance, and area options across microarchitecture, process technology, libraries, and design methodologies. You will build experiments, generate PPA curves, and translate insights into concrete targets and recommendations for CPU Leads and Product Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• Experience in CPU/ASIC/SoC implementation.
• Strong scripting ability in Python, Tcl, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Lead CPU PPA pathfinding studies across concepts to feasibility.
• Define and compare PPA options across microarchitecture, process, and libraries.
• Build experiments to quantify trade-offs and identify optimization opportunities.
• Generate area, power, frequency projections and PPA curves across workloads and options.
• Translate insights into forward-looking PPA targets and design requirements.
• Mentor engineers and develop scalable PPA analysis flows.
