Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a Principal Court Clerk to perform advanced clerical work using an electronic filing system in a Missouri Circuit Court. You will oversee docketing, assist judges, and ensure accurate processing of court documents while maintaining high levels of customer service.

The role requires supervisory experience, knowledge of court procedures, and the ability to manage time in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 semester hours and three years of varied administrative experience performing a wide range of technical office duties, with one year in a supervisory capacity.
• Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
• Preferred: comprehensive knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws and court operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision in the Criminal/Traffic docketing clerks; interview, train and counsel employees; assign, direct and review work.
• Assure completeness and accuracy of documents filed through the court’s electronic filing system; scan and attach documents.
• Perform accounting duties in receiving and disbursing monies; reconcile financial accounts and prepare reports.
• Prepare court-related documents and coordinate document flow for court assignments; queue electronically filed proceedings.

Education

Associate’s Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning
