Job summary

Amity Foundation seeks a Supervising Counselor to oversee the delivery of face-to-face rehabilitative programming in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) within an incarcerated setting. You will supervise staff, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with DHCS and contract requirements.

The role emphasizes leadership, documentation accuracy, and collaboration with CDCR partners, while maintaining participant health, safety, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Certified as an AOD Counselor with a DHCS-approved organization.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a certified AOD counselor.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP requirements and related contract obligations.
• Strong leadership, organization and time-management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ARMS.

Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately six AOD Counseling/Peer Navigator staff.
• Evaluate staff performance and provide coaching and training.
• Monitor contractor staff performance and implement corrective measures.
• Assess staff progress toward AOD certification.
• Oversee intake/orientation processes for new participants.
• Monitor and guide relapse prevention/CBI action plan development.
• Record participant data and program progress in ARMS.
• Provide training to AOD counseling staff and OMCP Mentors.
• Coordinate and supervise OMCP Mentors assigned to the program.
• Ensure internship hours are verified and documented.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CDCR-contracted staff and partners.
• Other duties as assigned.
