Job summary

Pinnacle Treatment Centers, Inc. is seeking a Lead Counselor to provide leadership for other counselors, manage an individual caseload, and participate in facility committees.

You will assist the Clinical Supervisor/Director in problem-solving and readiness for state and CARF inspections, while upholding program policies and standards. The role requires CA-credential or current licensure, strong documentation, crisis counseling skills, and collaboration with the team.

Qualifications

• The evaluation of patients, treatment planning, and counseling services.
• The use, abuse and treatment of illicit drugs and addiction.
• Organization and time management.
• Communication skills both written and verbal.
• Professional demeanor and customer service practices.
• Competence with Microsoft computer programs.
• Proof of licensure or certification by a State approved regulatory agency is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure completion of patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries and other essential documentation.
• Provide patients with orientation regarding objectives of the program, phase system requirements, rules and regulations.
• Assure each patient is assessed and placed according to treatment phases in accordance with standards.
• Counsel patients in crisis situations by identifying resources and coping abilities.
• Arrange referrals to other agencies and resources in the community when appropriate.
• Develop preliminary and comprehensive treatment plans.
• Oversee counseling case assignments and discharges.
• Attend team meetings and complete required trainings.
