Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a transaction-focused attorney to join the Office of the General Counsel as Lead Counsel, Transactions and Market Compliance. You will provide practical, business-oriented legal support to Ford Corporate Development, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functions on U.S.

and cross-border matters, including strategic alliances, complex commercial arrangements, as well as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures across our automotive and adjacent businesses.

Qualifications

• JD required with active U.S. Bar admission.
• 5+ years of experience in U.S. and global mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and complex commercial transactions.
• Experience advising on global supply chains and supplier-related matters.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and business judgment skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to translate legal concepts into business terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead workstreams on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, minority investments, collaborations, and JVs from diligence to closing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents.
• Support Ford's global supply chain including sourcing and supplier disputes.
• Negotiate with counterparties domestically and internationally.
• Provide practical risk-balanced advice to management and leadership.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and legal tech in transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage outside counsel.
