Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor for a large hyperscale data center project in West Virginia. The role requires leading cost governance across the full lifecycle, collaborating with designers, engineers, contractors, and client leadership.

On-site with periodic travel to nearby locations. The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in cost management within construction, preferably with data centers, and a strong procurement and value engineering

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of cost management experience in construction.
• Experience leading cost management on large data center or infrastructure projects.
• Construction consultancy background preferred.
• Understanding of procurement strategies, value management and value engineering.
• RICS accreditation or working toward chartership preferred.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost planning, estimating, and commercial management for large-scale hyperscale data center facilities.
• Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates at key design milestones.
• Manage change control, cost variances, and contingency strategy throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Review contractor and subcontractor pricing, lead negotiations, and drive commercial outcomes.
• Prepare written commercial reports, including monthly cost reports and funding presentations.
• Support value engineering and commercial optioneering exercises.
• Act as the primary client contact on cost and commercial matters.
