Job summary

Delve Underground is seeking a Lead Cost Estimator to guide cost estimation on complex civil, structural, and tunnel projects from our North American offices. You will lead a team of estimators, develop conceptual and production-based estimates, and maintain estimating databases.

The role requires 10+ years in heavy civil tunnel projects, strong analytical and software skills, and potential professional registration within the first year.

Qualifications

• Accredited undergraduate degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration or certification, or ability to obtain within the 1st year of employment.
• Exposure to cost estimating and pricing work.
• Exposure to construction claims or change order pricing.
• Scheduling experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimating efforts on complex civil, structural and tunnel projects.
• Lead a group of project cost estimators.
• Perform and oversee cost estimating efforts, including conceptual and production-based estimates, take-offs and solicitations, and maintenance of estimating database.
• Occasional field visits to observe construction means and methods and disseminate information.
• Collaborate with risk assessments to quantify project risks and distinguish estimation uncertainty from construction risk.
• Review design drawings for constructability issues and specifications for cost-related issues.
• Provide QA review on work by others.
