Job summary

Delve Underground is seeking a Lead Cost Estimator to guide cost estimating efforts for complex civil, structural, and tunnel projects across North America. You will head a team of estimators, oversee conceptual and production-based estimates, and maintain the estimating database while contributing to risk assessments and constructability reviews.

The role requires extensive field experience on heavy civil tunnel projects and a strong background in cost pricing, with a tendency toward proactive

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' direct field experience on one or more heavy civil tunnel projects; 20+ years' experience preferred.
• Experience with heavy civil contractor underground portfolio is highly desirable.
• Exposure to cost estimating and pricing work.
• Exposure to construction claims or change order pricing.
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimating efforts on complex civil, structural and tunnel projects.
• Lead a group of project cost estimators.
• Perform and oversee cost estimating efforts, including: conceptual estimates and production-based estimates; take-off and quotations; maintain estimating database.
• Collaborate with risk assessments to quantify project risks and distinguish estimating uncertainty from embedded construction risk.
• Review in-progress design drawings for constructability issues and evaluate cost-related issues.
• Provide QA review on work by others.
