Job summary

Delve Underground, a leader in underground and heavy civil engineering, seeks a Lead Cost Estimator to guide complex cost estimating for tunnel projects from our North American offices. You will lead a team, perform conceptual and production estimates, and ensure accurate pricing and risk assessment.

The role requires deep tunnel project experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines while maintaining QA standards and estimating databases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ direct field experience on one or more heavy civil tunnel projects; 20+ years’ preferred.
• Experience with heavy civil contractor underground portfolio desired.
• Exposure to cost estimating and pricing work.
• Exposure to construction claims or change order pricing.
• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration or certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimating efforts on complex civil, structural and tunnel projects.
• Lead a group of project cost estimators.
• Perform and oversee cost estimating activities: conceptual and production-based estimates, take-offs, and quotes.
• Maintain estimating database and QA of estimates.
• Travel to observe construction means/methods and disseminate information.
• Collaborate on risk assessments to quantify project risks and estimate uncertainties.
