Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Minneapolis is seeking a Corrugator Supervisor to lead the production shift, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You will manage daily operations, coordinate with maintenance and other departments, and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires 3+ years of corrugator supervisory experience, Lean experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. A high school diploma is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of corrugator/converting supervisory experience required.
• Experience in Lean; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred.
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Proven track record of effective problem-solving.
• Ability to embrace continuous improvement.
• Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions.
• Ability to coach and train employees.
• Ability to be an on-shift resource for troubleshooting problems in the process as well as maintenance issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day shift operations with emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Acts as first contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and enforce control procedures, recommending improvements.
• Coordinate production activities with other departments to meet goals in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Monitor production activities to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to schedules.
• Input production data into systems to measure KPIs around efficiencies, downtime, inventory.
• Provide recommendations to improve safety and environmental health of the facility.
• Produce daily shift reports and reviews to assess daily goals.
• Control load factors and workflow for maximum capacity and efficient use of resources.
• Manage and coach employees, providing performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain staff by recruiting, training, and developing growth opportunities.
• Directs maintenance to troubleshoot problems and perform preventive maintenance.
• Enforce safety regulations and promote safety consciousness.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and customer commitments.
