Job summary

Smurfit Westrock seeks a Production Supervisor to lead the corrugator/converting shift, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time production. You will coordinate with multiple departments and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires 3+ years of supervisory experience in packaging and a Lean/Six Sigma background. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary in a global packaging company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Engineering/Operations preferred.
• 3+ years of corrugator/converting supervisory experience in a packaging facility required.
• Experience in Lean environment; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Proven track record of effective problem-solving.
• Ability to embrace continuous improvement.
• Strong collaboration with stakeholders across functions.
• Ability to coach and train employees.
• Ability to be on-shift resource for troubleshooting process and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day shift operations with emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Serve as first point of contact for operators about mechanical or production issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and enforce control procedures.
• Coordinate production activities with other departments to meet goals.
• Monitor production activities to prevent waste and align with schedules.
• Input production data to monitor KPIs like efficiency and downtime.
• Provide safety, environmental and health recommendations for the facility.
• Produce daily shift production reports and reviews.
• Manage load factors and workflow to maximize capacity and labor use.
• Coach and develop staff and conduct performance reviews.
• Recruit, orient, train, and develop staff.
• Direct maintenance to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance.
• Enforce plant safety regulations and promote safety-conscious culture.
• Ensure adherence to standards and customer commitments.
