Job summary

CFG Health Systems is seeking a Correctional Medical Physician per diem in Bridgeton, NJ. As lead physician, you oversee medical program activities within a correctional facility and ensure inmate care aligns with regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with the Health Services Administrator, supervise staff, provide on-call coverage, and maintain compliance with contractual and accreditation requirements while delivering high-quality healthcare to detainees.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a U.S.-based residency program.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of the facility.
• Active and unrestricted prescriptive authority with DEA and CDS registrations.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document examinations per NCCHC/ACA/PBNDS NJ 10-A CFG standards.
• Supervise the Medical Unit to ensure effective healthcare delivery.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies and tests.
• Prescribe medications and manage health conditions within formulary guidelines.
• Document all patient care accurately and timely.
• Promote a professional, ethical environment for inmates.
• Develop and supervise policies, procedures, and protocols for inmate healthcare.
• Collaborate with correctional staff and leadership to ensure continuity of care.
