Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a part-time Physician at Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown, DE. The physician will supervise clinical services, coordinate with community providers, and ensure compliant medical care within a correctional facility.

Qualified candidates are graduates from an accredited medical school with an active medical license and current DEA registration. English fluency and teamwork are essential for collaboration with staff and external partners.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• Fully licensed to practice in the state of employment.
• Current DEA registration.
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Correctional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall supervision for clinical services at the site.
• Ensure and provide on-call services.
• Review and approve clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Manage referrals to outside facilities for appropriateness and continuity of care.
• Sponsor Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in compliance with state law.
• Represent the healthcare program in discussions with local groups and officials.
• Document encounters in the patient medical records accurately and timely.
