Job summary

CFG Health seeks a Correctional Medical Physician to lead medical programs at a designated correctional facility in Newark, NJ. The role supervises staff, evaluates clinical programs, and coordinates with health administrators to ensure high-quality inmate care.

You will develop policies, manage risk, and maintain compliance with NCCHC, ACA, PBNDS, and state regulations while collaborating with correctional staff and public agencies.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a US-based residency program.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of the facility.
• Active DEA and CDS registrations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine examinations and sick calls per governing standards (NCCHC, ACA, PBNDS, NJ 10-A, CFG Health).
• Supervise Medical Unit to ensure effective healthcare delivery.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, labs, and ancillary services.
• Prescribe medications and manage patient health within regulations and formulary guidelines.
• Document care accurately and timely.
