Job summary

CDCR - San Quentin State Prison is seeking a Supervising Correctional Cook. The role oversees preparation, cooking, and serving meals for incarcerated individuals, and leads the main kitchen production and feeding line. Emphasis is on menu adherence and food safety.

The SCC will supervise, train, and evaluate Correctional Supervising Cooks, handle sanitation, and manage supplies and documentation while supporting the department's safety and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising cooks in a correctional facility.
• Ability to train and direct correctional staff.
• Knowledge of standardized menus and food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for the incarcerated population.
• Oversees the main production and feeding line.
• Determines food quantities and ensures menus are followed according to the Standardized Menu.
• Orders and receives supplies and maintains records and reports.
• Evaluates work performance and conducts staff training.
