Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a Lead Cook/Sous Chef to help manage daily kitchen operations under the Dining Services Director. You will assist with meal prep, training, inventory, and ensuring high-quality dining for residents.

The role emphasizes food safety, portion control, and maintaining Cedarhurst dining standards. Prior culinary training and a Food Manager certification are preferred, with equality and good teamwork valued.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience in culinary production.
• Formal culinary training preferred.
• Food Manager Certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Applicable state/county licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen stock and inventory.
• Maintain kitchen organization and hygiene.
• Train dining team and ensure proper food handling.
• Ensure food is prepared, portioned and served to standards.
• Support catering, room service and events as needed.
• Uphold infection control and safety guidelines.
