Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in La Vista, Nebraska is seeking a Lead Cook/Sous Chef to help manage daily kitchen and dining operations, assist in meal prep, staff training, inventory management, and ensure food safety compliance.

Reporting to the Dining Services Director, you will maintain kitchen organization, supervise food handling, and provide leadership during the Director's absence, contributing to resident satisfaction through excellence in service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years experience in culinary production with food and restaurant knowledge.
• Formal culinary training preferred.
• Food Manager Certification preferred or ability to obtain.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Applicable state/county licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen stock and inventory in the absence of the Dining Services Director.
• Work with the Dining Services Director to maintain kitchen organization.
• Assist in orientation and continued training of dining team.
• Instruct all team on operation, maintenance, and cleaning of dining services equipment.
• Exhibit knowledge of and conduct hands-on training of staff on all food service positions and proper handling.
• Assist in ensuring food is properly prepared, portioned and served and monitor quality and temperature.
