Job summary

Oakmont-Manor in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a shift supervisor for the dietary department. Under the direction of the food service director/head chef, you will oversee food preparation, sanitation, and meal service, stepping in for the head cook in their absence to ensure smooth operation.

Responsibilities include assisting with purchasing and inventory, training new staff, monitoring resident meals and dietary preferences, maintaining records, and ensuring all equipment is used safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Food sanitation cert preferred.
• One year of cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and read recipes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with purchasing and inventory records as directed.
• Maintain hygienic food handling and sanitation.
• Prepare meals and oversee dietary aides during shift.
• Monitor resident meals and dietary preferences.
• Document meals and manage menus/recipe files.
• Oversee use of dietary equipment and safety.
• Notify management of emergencies and complete incident reports.
• Ensure all residents are served meals.
• Assist with training of new personnel.
