Job summary

Oakwood-Manor is seeking a Cook/Assistant Chef to ensure patient meals are prepared and portioned per approved menus in a timely manner. The role requires maintaining sanitation, following regulations, and coordinating with Nutrition Services.

The ideal candidate has a current state Food Manager Certificate and experience in healthcare food service. Basic English proficiency and potential supervision duties are included as part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Experience in quality food preparation in healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or directs preparation of food items on assigned menus.
• Adheres to production schedules and avoids waste.
• Labels, dates, and stores food items/leftovers after use.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, work and storage areas.
• Prepares or directs preparation of special items, meals, and snacks.
• Trains or supervises staff as needed.
• Checks trays for correct flavor and temperature.
• Maintains perishable supplies inventory and notes shortages.
