Job summary

PACS is seeking a dependable cook to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor in a post-acute care setting. Responsibilities include preparing meals in large quantities, following menus, and ensuring food safety and sanitation.

The role requires a high school diploma, hospital or long-term care cooking experience, and a ServSafe certificate. Training and supervision will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of cook experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals in large quantities following menus and portion guides.
• Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures.
• Assist with serving meals and maintaining clean cooking areas.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses and participate in staff training.
