Job summary

Front Porch Communities & Services is seeking a Lead Cook for Sunny View Retirement Community in California. Under the supervision of the Dietary Services Director or Executive Chef, you will prepare culinary delights for residents and execute the menu, ensuring a high level of performance, guest satisfaction and profitability.

The role involves daily preparation in pantry and fry stations, maintaining cleanliness, training kitchen staff, controlling food costs, and upholding health and safety

Qualifications

• 2–4 years related experience and/or training
• 3–6 months related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

• Cook Lead; assist in food preparation and ensure high quality, taste and presentation.
• Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors.
• Comply with Standards of Service and assist in assuring the same from all kitchen employees.
• Participate in actual food preparation and expedite during peak meal periods as needed.
• Control food cost by training kitchen staff on proper methods of food preparation and handling.
• Ensure all kitchen employees adhere to uniform, grooming and appearance standards.
• Assist in developing standardized recipes and menu planning as directed by management.
• Maintain care and cleanliness of equipment and related work areas.
