Job summary

Sunny View Retirement Community is seeking a Lead Cook to prepare culinary delights for residents under the supervision of the Dietary Services Director or Executive Chef. The role focuses on high quality food appearance, resident satisfaction and profitability, with daily preparation in pantry, fry stations or other kitchen areas.

The Lead Cook supervises cooks and staff, assists in menu planning, maintains safety and sanitation, and ensures timely service during peak meal periods.

Qualifications

• Food handlers' certification required by local health department.
• 2-4 years related experience and/or training preferred.
• 3-6 months related experience and/or training may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Cook and lead kitchen staff to prepare meals for residents.
• Ensure high quality, taste and presentation of food.
• Assist in menu planning and cost control initiatives.
