Job summary

Sunny View Retirement Community is seeking a Line Cook to work under the supervision of the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef, preparing and cooking meals for residents and staff at Front Porch facilities. You will cook a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables and other items, ensure portion sizes and quality, maintain clean work stations, and follow all safety and health guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Food Handlers’ certification from local health department

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment.
• Knows and complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
• Stock and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
