Job summary

Tigg's Canteen Services is seeking a permanent Full-Time Lead Cook for the Saginaw County Jail in Saginaw, MI. The role requires leading meal preparations, reading and following recipes, and maintaining a structured kitchen in a correctional environment.

Wage starts at $17.00 per hour with benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and PTO. Flexibility for weekends, holidays, and varied shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead, instruct, and assist with meal preparations including food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.
• Ability to read and follow company recipes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a structured correctional environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts (M-F 8:30am-6:30pm; Sat-Sun 8am-1pm).
• Clearance approval into the facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead, instruct, and assist with meal preparations including food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-up.
• Follow company recipes and ensure consistency.
• Maintain sanitation and safety in a correctional kitchen.
• Supervise kitchen staff during meals and service.
