Job summary

ENGEL North America is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead programming of new robots and automation equipment, modify software for industrial robots, and troubleshoot existing systems across production sites.

You will design electrical schematics, develop HMI, set up communication protocols, and provide technical support to project teams. Travel 5-15%, passport required; bachelor's in software engineering and 3–5 years' robotics experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years related experience (preferred in Robotic and/or Automation).
• Capable of ladder logic, function block and structured text programming.
• Travel requirements include 5-15% with travel to other countries and Passport required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for programming of new robots and automation equipment.
• Modification of existing Software for industrial robots and custom automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug of existing products.
• Design electrical schematics and ensure hardware integration with mechanical design.
• Design HMI and visualization for production cells and develop communication protocols (Ethercat, Ethernet, I/O Link, OPC UA, Profibus).
