Job summary

ENGEL Machinery in York, PA seeks an experienced software engineer to program and modify control software for robots and automation equipment. You will troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing products while collaborating with engineering teams to integrate electrical designs with mechanical systems.

The role requires 3–5 years in robotics/automation, strong knowledge of ladder logic and C++, and experience with SAP and CAD tools for electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 3–5 years related experience in robotics and automation.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and related drawings.
• Experience with PLCs and ladder logic programming.
• Experience with SAP and machine simulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program and modify software for industrial robots and automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug existing products and provide technical support.
• Develop and modify electrical schematics and integration with mechanical design.
• Design and implement HMI and visualization for production cells.
• Create documentation and operator instructions for custom software.
