Job summary

Washington Equipment Manufacturing Company, Inc. (WEMCO, Inc.) seeks a Controls Engineer to design, validate, and improve electromechanical systems.

You will review electrical designs, develop PLC programs, and lead integration with automated equipment in production and field settings. You’ll collaborate with electrical engineers, apply ISO and industry standards, and manage documentation, testing procedures, and technical reporting to support project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2 years experience in design and implementation of control systems including PLC programming.
• Minimum 5 years experience or education in electrical controls systems.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor is expected.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assess project requirements and undertake relevant research.
• Validate and improve the performance of electromechanical equipment and components.
• Use CAD/CA tools to review, modify and design electrical systems.
• Produce and implement designs and test procedures.
• Lead integration of new PLC systems and automation equipment.
• Develop, test, and validate programs for equipment systems.
• Write periodic reports or presentations to management and customers.
