A leading equipment manufacturing firm in Washington is seeking a Controls Engineer to utilize computer-aided software to design and improve electrical systems. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years experience in control systems, and show strong problem-solving and communication skills. Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in the design, development, and implementation of control systems including PLC programming.
• Minimum of 5 years experience or education in electrical controls systems.
• Prior experience using Autodesk Inventor is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize computer-aided software to review and design electrical systems.
• Assess project requirements and undertake relevant research.
• Troubleshoot issues with hardware, software, and programming.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for electrical work.

Skills

Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications

Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers, and suppliers

Strong problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail

Good time management and organizational skills

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a closely-related field
