Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and develop electrical and software systems for manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with department leaders to map automation opportunities and create detailed roadmaps, driving efficiency and reliability across production lines.

The role requires strong problem-solving and communication; proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PLC programming, and HMI/SCADA design is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Controls/Electrical or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in the automation industry.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) - Allen-Bradley and Siemens
• Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems - Allen Bradley, National Instruments, Maple Systems
• Experience troubleshooting control system issues and strong written/oral communication skills
• Must be a self-starter, team player, detail-oriented and able to prioritize and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD
• Interprets mechanical drawings for electrical requirements (e.g., SolidWorks)
• Research supplier products for assembly components
• Maintains electrical bill of materials
• Develop PLC code and GUI/communication interfaces
• Troubleshoot existing company systems and support project implementation
• Provide timely status updates and ensure quality in a regulated environment
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers for quote input as required
