Job summary

RoviSys Building Technologies in Manassas, VA seeks a Lead Controls Systems Engineer to design and lead building automation projects across healthcare, commercial, and industrial facilities.

You will guide a project team, coordinate with clients, and oversee instrument selection, panel layouts, and control software development from design through commissioning. The role emphasizes hands-on design, field startup, and customer demonstrations to ensure successful handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related technical degree.
• 3+ years of experience in related field/industry.
• Experience with Rockwell, Aveva, Inductive Ignition, or Distech BACnet/LON controllers.
• HVAC systems and large building automation understanding.
• P&ID and instrumentation knowledge for system design.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project team of 2-5 engineers and assign tasks.
• Support proposals by estimating hardware and engineering effort.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers.
• Create instrument lists from P&ID drawings and select devices.
• Research controls hardware and document submittals.
• Create panel layouts and electrical schematics for enclosures.
• Procure project hardware and support fabrication technicians.
• Lead customer design review meetings and configure UI/HMI screens.
• Configure DDC/PLC/DCS control algorithms and perform testing.
• Draft system documentation and assist in demonstrations and acceptance testing.
• Install software on site, perform loop checks, calibration, and functional tests.
• Train customer representatives on operations and maintenance.
