Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer in Auburn, CA. You will design and implement control systems, develop wiring schematics and panel layouts, and document sequences of operation.

You will lead reviews, support startup, and train customers across manufacturing and data center projects. The role requires a BS in Engineering, 3–10 years of experience with Rockwell/Siemens PLCs, SCADA, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering; Electrical preferred.
3–10 years of controls engineering experience.
Experience with control systems, instrumentation, and SCADA (Rockwell, AVEVA Wonderware).
Experience with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
Willingness to travel up to 35%.
Experience with AutoCAD; DC/Instrumentation knowledge desired.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and implements control systems to meet process requirements.
Develops schematics and panel layouts in AutoCAD.
Documents operations and reviews design with customers.
Supports on-site startup, checkout, and training.
Leads projects & guides junior engineers/technicians.
Manages smaller projects ($50K–$250K) including schedules, changes, and purchasing.
