NYC Department of Environmental Protection is seeking seven Assistant Environmental Engineers to serve as Technical Reviewers in the ACP Technical Review Unit. The role focuses on reviewing asbestos-related project notifications, amendments, and variance applications, and performing inspections to ensure compliance with NYC/State regulations.

Responsibilities include preparing detailed inspection reports, collecting evidence, and providing testimony at hearings when required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, fire protection, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering with one year of full-time experience in environmental or fire protection engineering work.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, fire protection, chemical, mechanical, petroleum, aeronautical, or materials engineering technology with three years of full-time experience in environmental or fire protection engineering work.
• Bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in environmental or fire protection engineering from an accredited college.

Responsabilidades

• Review and approve asbestos project notifications, amendments, and variance applications.
• Conduct pre-abatement and active asbestos abatement inspections.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and collect and document samples.
• Provide testimony at hearings and coordinate with other agencies as needed.
