Job summary

GFT in Wilmington, NC is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to join our Construction Services Team. The role requires regular in-office presence in Wilmington and will oversee project schedules, budgets, and safety compliance to deliver high-quality results.

You will lead meetings, coordinate with clients and internal teams, review submittals, manage change orders, and ensure adherence to QA/QC plans. Travel to job sites as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Experience with NCDOT is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of construction project management experience.
• Procore or similar CM software proficiency preferred but not required.
• 10-hour OSHA Safety course.
• MS Office and SharePoint proficiency.
• Driver’s license required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
• Prepares and monitors project schedules.
• Performs periodic construction observation and inspection checks.
• Possesses basic surveying interpretation skills.
• Prepares reports and correspondence.
• Prepares and checks quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
• Prepares construction payment applications.
• Negotiates and prepares construction change orders.
• Reviews submittals and other technical data.
• Proficient with construction management software for document management and scheduling.
• Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
• Assists with Risk Management assessments.
• Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
• Occasional Travel to and from project sites is expected.
