Job summary

The City of Tacoma is seeking an experienced Construction Inspection Supervisor to join an eligibility list for vacancies in Tacoma Water, Planning & Development Services, and Environment & Public Works.

You will supervise inspectors, ensure compliance with plans and regulations, coordinate with contractors and project stakeholders, and guide teams through complex projects while maintaining City standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with engineering coursework and 3+ years in construction inspection or supervisory experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret plans.
• Knowledge of codes, safety, and inspection roles.
• Strong communication and supervisory abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspectors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with contractors and project stakeholders.
• Prepare project correspondence and reports.
• Review plans, specs, schedules, and finances for compliance.
• Attend meetings and represent the City when required.
• Operate equipment as necessary.
