Job summary

The City of Tacoma is seeking an Engineering Construction Coordinator to establish an eligible list for vacancies in Water, Power, Planning & Development Services, and Environment & Public Works. The ECC oversees field operations, coordinates with private contractors, and ensures safety in the Right-of-Way.

Responsibilities include constructability reviews, quality control during design, and coordination with various departments to meet project requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with several years of construction/inspection experience.
• Associates degree in civil engineering or equivalent with relevant field experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate a wide range of construction projects including road and bridge work.
• Coordinate building water infrastructure projects using alternative delivery methods.
• Provide oversight of inspection activities and inspection staff across multiple utilities.
• Perform constructability and quality control reviews during project design.
• Oversee and inspect site work including paving, surveying, and safety measures.
• Coordinate permitting with external agencies and respond to RFIs and COPs.
