Qualifications

• Graduation from high school with course work in engineering and at least three years in construction inspection or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspectors responsible for inspection of construction projects to assure quality and compliance with plans, specs, safety regulations, City ordinances, and state/federal requirements.
• Select, train, supervise and evaluate performance of assigned personnel; coordinate and assign the work of others.
• Facilitate and coordinate communication between project participants including contractor, inspectors, design staff, other City departments, governmental agencies, private entities and the public.
• Prepare project correspondence, reports and other documents as appropriate.
• Review project plans, specifications, schedules and financial arrangements for completeness, accuracy and compliance; recommend changes as appropriate.
• Attend and participate in various meetings; serve as City and departmental representative in court, as required.
• Operate equipment such as measuring devices, two-way radios and motor vehicles as necessary to conduct work.
