Urban Engineers in Hartford, CT seeks a Chief Construction Inspector to oversee field inspections on CTDOT Bridge & Highway and Rail & Facility projects across the region. The role requires overseeing daily inspection activities, documenting work, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and inspectors to ensure contract conformity.

Qualified candidates should hold CT-registered PE or NICET TC I-IV or CCM, with a BS in Civil Engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• PE: Licensed Professional Engineer in CT or reciprocity within 6 months.
• NICET: Transportation Construction Inspection Level 4 (TCI-IV) or higher.
• CCM: Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
• BS in Civil Engineering preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all construction within project limits to ensure conformity with contract plans and specifications.
• Monitor and document all work by Contractor, subcontractors, utilities, railroads, and other entities.
• Interface with inspections staff, Client and Contractors on all project aspects.
• Perform daily construction inspection of work activities.
• Complete daily reports, quantity calculations, and reports for observed work.
• Supervise and manage construction inspectors.
