Rocky Mountain Youth Corps is seeking a Conservation Program Coordinator in Taos, NM. The role oversees field teams, coordinates staff and partners, and delivers safety-focused conservation programs across the state.

The position emphasizes leadership, training, risk management, and practical field operations, with travel and seasonal scheduling. A strong background in conservation and youth program delivery is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of field experience in natural resource management or related fields.
  • Minimum one year of experience with a Youth/Conservation Corps or similar program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Wilderness First Responder or higher; ability to obtain WFR within 3 months.
  • Must be 21+ with valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Pre-employment background check including FBI fingerprint check.
  • B-level (FALB) sawyer certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Preferred: Leave No Trace Master Educator/Trainer certification.
  • Preferred: First Aid/CPR Instructor certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery of conservation projects from setup through completion.
  • Serve as central point of coordination among staff, Corpsmembers, and partners.
  • Design and deliver seasonal orientation and training.
  • Provide hands-on field leadership and operational support throughout the season.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and personnel processes for supervisors and crews.
  • Track timesheets, ensure documentation and regular program reporting.
