Job summary

Rocky Mountain Youth Corps (RMYC) in Taos, NM is seeking a Conservation Field Technician for an AmeriCorps placement. You will support crews across conservation projects, teach field skills, and assist Crew Supervisors while maintaining safety and organization.

The position runs Jan–Dec 2027 with a hybrid schedule and weekly stipend. Eligible candidates must be 21–30, have a valid driver’s license, and be US citizens or permanent residents.

Qualifications

• 21–30 years of age as of Jan 25, 2027
• Valid and insurable driver’s license
• US Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident
• Able to complete the 1700 hour AmeriCorps term
• Comply with all RMYC and AmeriCorps rules and policies

Responsibilities

• Assist in successful implementation of conservation projects
• Teach technical skills to Corpsmembers in the field
• Model professional behavior and environmental stewardship
• Maintain safety and risk management within the crew
• Provide field support to Crew Supervisors and project staff
• Prepare supplies and equipment for activities
• Support logistics and on-call duties as needed
